Visiting the Gardens

Our gardens, designed around the remains of a 13th century fortified manor house and moat, offer excellent recreational and educational opportunities for anyone wanting to visit and enjoy this award winning outdoor space.

The gardens are open to the general public to visit all year round (except Christmas), Monday to Friday, from 9am to 4.30pm and some weekends. We also welcome visits from groups, families, hospices, care facilities, schools, clubs and organisations. Please be aware that on occasion large groups hire the site for their own exclusive use so if you are planning a visit please contact us beforehand to avoid disappointment.

The gardens, both landscaped and natural, consist of a sensory garden, wild flower beds, cottage garden borders, ponds and streams, wooded areas, wildlife habitats, raised nursery beds, greenhouse, outdoor learning space and outdoor picnic and seating areas, all surrounding the 13th century moat and fishing platforms.  Our indoor facilities are first class enabling people to enjoy the outdoors whatever the weather. Refreshments and homemade cakes are also available to purchase.
