Charity Open Day - Saturday 26 June 2010

We would like to thank everyone who attended our Charity Open Day.

It is the first time the Trust has held an event of this kind on their site and after the success of Saturday it will now become an annual event. The Trust hoped the attendance would have been higher but it was still considered a great success. The Trust welcomed many people who had not visited the site before, who were amazed at the facilities available to the local community.

There were ‘taster’ angling sessions for anyone who wanted to try their hand at fishing. Everyone who took part was entered into a competition. The winner in the under 12’s section was Oliver who managed to catch 12 fish during his 30 minute slot. The winner of the Junior section was Daniel and the Adult section was won by Rob, who is Oliver’s Dad. The winner of the ‘Biggest fish of the Day’ went to Louis Farmer, who caught a whopping 4lb 8 oz Carp.

Louis is a novice angler and was overjoyed to have won first prize in his first competition, we all hope it will not be his last.

We would like to thank all our staff and volunteers who worked extremely hard to organise the day. We would also, like to thank those people who visited us on the day and gave so generously to a very worthwhile cause.
