Access Wildlife at Albrighton Moat

The Albrighton Trust has benefited from over £7,000 worth of funding from the Big Lottery Fund's Community Wildlife programme.

The trust will be using the grant to deliver training programme where volunteers will develop skills to teach others about creating and improving natural habitats.

The volunteers will then lead observation sessions with local schools, disabled people, voluntary groups and community members, giving people the chance to monitor and encourage more wildlife to the area.

The aim is for visitors to gain knowledge in identifying and understanding animal lifestyles and appreciating both common and rare species.

The project will help people to recognise the impact of human activities on bird and other animal populations and consider conservation issues.

The Trust will be working with the Field Studies Council to provide the appropriate training for volunteers, who in turn will empower visitors to explore and protect the natural environment.

The first of the feeding station with a camera is now up and running, we now need the birds to find it, but it won't be long before they do if this cold weather continues.
